Hire a Room at the Napper Centre
From the outside, our small 15th-century cottage looks much as it did when Dr Swete reviewed it in the Victorian era. Step inside, though, and you’ll find modern, comfortable spaces suited to wellbeing sessions, meetings, workshops and office-based work — with three very different rooms to choose from, so there’s likely to be one that fits whether you’re running a committee meeting, a hobby group, a training day or simply need somewhere quiet to work for an afternoon.

Albert Napper Room
Our largest and most flexible space, set within the original ground-floor rooms of the cottage. Original low ceilings and period character sit alongside a 65-inch wall-mounted AV screen, and the room’s collapsible chairs and tables mean the layout can be changed to suit your event rather than the other way round:
- Theatre style — rows of chairs facing the front, seating up to 30. Well suited to talks, AGMs, presentations and community meetings.
- Boardroom style — set up with 6 tables for a more collaborative, face-to-face layout. Ideal for committee meetings, training sessions and workshops where people need table space for notes and materials.
- Standing reception — the room opens right out for receptions and social gatherings, holding up to 80 guests. Popular for drinks receptions, exhibitions and launches.
Because the tables and chairs are collapsible, cabaret, classroom and U-shape layouts can also be arranged on request — just let us know what you have in mind when you book and we’ll help you get the setup right.
Elizabeth Smith Room
A professional first-floor meeting space seating up to 12, ideal for team meetings, board meetings and small group sessions. The adjacent Reverend Sapte Room adjoins directly and can be used flexibly alongside it — as a waiting area for visitors and interviewees, a breakout or registration space, or simply extra room to spread out materials for a workshop or hobby group. Having two connected spaces in one booking makes this the room to choose if your session has more than one “part” to it — a demonstration followed by hands-on work, for example, or a meeting followed by informal catch-ups.
Keith Atkins Room
A compact working hub for 1–3 people, fitted with a sit–stand desk and two to three office chairs, so you can work seated or standing through the day. What makes this room distinctive is its own private entrance and WC directly from the High Street — you can come and go without passing through the rest of the Centre. It’s particularly well suited to home workers who want a proper space away from the kitchen table for a few hours, small client meetings or one-to-one sessions, and anyone who needs a quiet, self-contained spot to focus.
Whole Centre Hire
Rent all three rooms plus the kitchen and ground-floor accessible toilet — perfect for larger gatherings, full-day events, team away days and corporate parties.

“It is constructed like most of the Surrey cottages, the lower storey built of brick and the upper framed in wood, the walls being lath and plaster, weather tiled on the outside”
